Steam has over 125 million active users, 8.9M concurrent peak

The number of active users on Steam has reached a new record of 125 million.

Valve announced today that are over 125 active Steam users worldwide. The Steam client now has 4500 games and 400 million pieces of user-generated content. Valve did not specify what it considers “active users,” though the number is impressive nonetheless.

The company said that GDC 2015 mark the 13th anniversary of the first public announcement of Steam.

In related news, the number of concurrent users on Steam has reached a new high, with over 8.9 earlier this month. This marks a small increase over January concurrent users numbers of 8.4.

Steam is available on PC for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Valve announced earlier today that it will bring its VR headset and the final Steam Controller design to GDC 2015.

I'd assume he means a better pc, to play games these days you need a decent build.

Not entirely. You just need a spare $500 at most to play games on low-mid. Some even high (Not highest), depends on the game.

These are some great achievements for steam and very impressive numbers! I love using steam although they need to improve there customer support.

Clearly there are only gamers in North America, no where else.

Really great numbers, but i do not know if to be happy or worried, I do not want consoles become the next steam, well the one was the first attempt on that matter.

Some computers aren't capable of gaming, they're probably using a family computer and usually those are a couple years old
