Call of Duty Online public beta launches in China

4.7
Call of Duty Online, the China-only freemium version of the mega franchise, is now in open beta for hundred of millions of Chinese. Announced several years ago, publisher Activision has taken a very disciplined approach in developing the game for the region.

"We've worked closely with our partner at Tencent, and we've challenged one of our most trusted and talented development teams of Raven Software to create a true Call of Duty experience tailored for the Chinese market," said Activisition Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. "Throughout testing, the community feedback has been tremendous. We couldn't be more excited and we look forward to winning the hearts and minds of a new community in China."

Not to mention: all that cash! Almost every major publisher has made a deal with Tencent to get a piece of China's emerging market. Thanks to China's regulations governing international investment, the company has turned into the go-to gatekeeper to the region. That hasn't stopped Tencent from making outside investments of its own, including a minority stake in Epic Games and ownership of League of Legends developer Riot. Oh yeah, Tencent is also a massive "passive investor" in Activision.

Int I thought call of duty online was already out?

A fake(ish) version was. It technically wasn't real, in a sense of it wasn't legit COD Zombies. But now that the makers are putting their hand in it, it's becoming more theirs. And while the COD Online is free, they'll probably make it cost.

A brief background of the game: PC Gaming actually use to be ILLEGAL in China. It wasn't until a few years back it was allowed. One of the first games to come out: CoD Online.

not fake at all look on youtube for multiplayer game play
This guy has it and shows tutorials how to get it

I am trying to hook up my xbox one controller to COD Online

I have tried xpadder and Pinnacle Game Profiler. When I try to game hook with Game Profiler the game crashes.

I tried downloading AutoHotkey but it's so confusing and found no easy xbox one scripts for it.

any ideas guys?

Pc gaming wasn't illegal in China. China has more gamers than the whole population of the US. Console gaming was banned in China because it was mostly Japanese consoles.

I don't know what to think of this, I am not quite sure if this has any relation to previous COD games, but this seems to have Mw2 voiceovers, Advanced Warfare futuristics and Black Ops maps/weapons. This is very peculiar O_o
