Monthly Xbox One updates 'to continue in 2015'

4.8
Microsoft will continue to release Xbox One system updates on a monthly basis in 2015.

Having previously stated that December's system update will be smaller than recent ones, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said on the latest Major Nelson podcast: "We usually don't do big updates in December.

"December I expect to be a time that we're just going to make sure people are turning on consoles and the games are playing well and everything's working great. That's job number one for us.

"As we roll into 2015 we definitely have a road map for monthly updates. When they'll start up again we'll watch. We're kind of working through the schedules on those things now but it's a commitment that we have as a platform team that we'll continue monthly updates."

Microsoft released the last Xbox One update in mid-October. It focused on improving multitasking and social abilities, with changes to the console's Snap and Friends functions.

November's Xbox One system update has also been rolled out to preview members ahead its general release this month. New features include the ability to customise the Xbox One background, deeper Twitter integration, store improvements, plus SmartGlass and Internet Explorer updates.

Spencer recently confirmed that the ability to take screenshots on Xbox One won't be introduced until 2015, while Microsoft is also working to improve install times on the console.

That's cool man, if anything this means they will constantly fix bugs that tend to plague this system.

Miss Of everything I read from here, them improving those install times would basically be the greatest and most important thing they can adjust, for me at least.

All you need to do is disconnect from the internet when installing from a disk because when connected to the internet while installing from a disk causes the xbox to download the game instead of using the disk to install it (don't know why MS did this really dumb move in my opinion.) it will take around 145 minutes with internet disconnected.

Lookgin forward to what Microsoft has coming.

-Skittle If they want to stop modders on Xbox 360 why don't they just update the dashboard regularly lol

It doesn't stop them they just have to update the code on their J-Tag and then their fine again.
