Bungie doubles Destiny public events, plans to add requested features

4.6
Bungie told Joystiq today that it will roll out a number of post-launch improvements for its multiplayer online shooter Destiny, and notes that it has already "more than doubled" the number of public events players will encounter throughout its world.

"Bungie is hard at work behind the scenes, updating Destiny to make it better," Bungie community manager David Dague said. "We've rolled out numerous patches, tuning updates, and server adjustments. For instance, the frequency of public events has more than doubled."

Dague added: "We'll keep working to ensure our server performance remains stable for our already sizeable community, which has shattered previous records for any Bungie game to date. In an effort to keep our community up-to-date on these changes, patch notes will continue to appear on Bungie.net. The team is committed to a steady stream of post launch support, including the addition of some much requested features."

I really do like it when a company takes requests. It really shows that they want to do good for its userbase and not just rip money out of them. The key to making the most money is by interacting with your customers and making them feel appreciated and then on top of that having an amazing game.

Miss Gotta love Bungie for listening to their fans.

They have always seemed to listen, I have noticed it since I got Halo 3.

Bungie has always been really close to their fan base. Like you said, on Halo 3 they really cared about the fans. Running into devs in game was actually pretty common.

TechLife I feel really bad for all of you saying it got boring at 20. You obviously missed the point of the game, which wasn't just the campaign. Do people stop playing WoW after they hit the level cap? No. Cause you're supposed to get better gear, do raids, etc.

This game is great. Could use improvements but is definitely not boring. Can't wait to see what they add.

I'm currently 25 and I haven't enjoyed the game at all since I was about level 18.

Wanna compare WoW to Destiny? Ok then. Well. You hit level 90 on WoW. You have what? Like 36 raids, LOADS more other raids to on a higher difficulty. You can farm gold, level proffessions, hunt mounts etc.

Well, Destiny. You hit level 20... You grind the level 18/20/22 strike. Get 23/24 then do nothing all day grinding nothing but the 24 strike for better gear. Then eventually the level 26 weekly strike 24/7 to get better gear.

You could PvP. But why? Just to be over run by Hunters using 1 **** kill godmode abilities and every 10 year old running fusion rifle 1 bursting you cross map? Nah.

Don't compare such diverse games like WoW to such straight forward basic games like Destiny. The game got boring fast. It was an utter let down to me and I'm sure thousands of other players.

WoW has been around for 10 years.

Destiny just came out.

I am sure WoW was not nearly as big as it is now at launch. Given time, Destiny will improve.

EDIT: Did not mean to have the boring part in there.
