Destiny trailer shows off PlayStation-only content

Bungie has released a new Destiny trailer offering another glimpse of the exclusive bonus content coming to the PlayStation versions of the game.

As previously announced, Destiny on PS3 and PS4 will contain exclusive bonus content, including a new co-op Strike mission set on Mars, an additional competitive multiplayer map, and a selection of exclusive guns, gear, and ships.

PS gamers will get exclusive gear, including the Manifold Seeker armor for Warlocks, the Vanir armor for Titans and the Argus weave for Hunters.

In addition, an "an exotic assault rifle" called the Monte Carlo, and the Hawkmoon hand cannon, along with three ships, the Aurora Wake, Crypt Hammer and the Outrageous Fortune, will be PlayStation exclusive.

Bungie last week released a launch trailer to mark the looming Destiny release date of September 9 on all formats, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

No need to fret. These weapons and gear will be bested by just playing the game and earning good gear, for instance rewards gained from end game raids will probably be 100x better. Oh and exclusive ships? Guess it's nice but doesn't really change much except a loading screen.

-Misaki It really is a stupid decision on Bungie's part to reserve this for PS only. It was one thing when a developer chooses to side with Xbox and release map packs a couple weeks or a month earlier than on PS/PC, but it's quite another thing when they exclude weapons, armors and whole co-op MISSIONS from their game for a different platform. That's really stupid imo, because it's not one of those things where you can just say "oh, I'll just get it for PS3/PS4 instead" if you either 1: don't have money for a next-gen console and don't plan on buying one or 2: already have an Xbox One (because obviously nobody is going to buy a PS4 just to get some exclusive items)

I honestly don't know why Bungie thought this would be a good idea. I mean, even if they made it so this content came standard with the Playstation versions of the game, but you could buy it as day 1 DLC for the Xbox 360/One, but flat out removing it from the Xbox versions? I didn't realize a developer as known and successful as Bungie would need money so bad, that they'd take a bribe from Sony. Way to give a giant F U to your Xbox fanbase Bungie.
