Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare teaser video spotlights the rise of PMCs

4.1
Activision has released a live-action video feature spotlighting the increasing prominence of modern-day PMCs (private military corporations), which will evidently play a major role in this year's new Call of Duty game.

The video comes shortly after the publisher revealed plans to announce the latest entry in its flagship shooter series on May 4 at 10am UK time (2am Pacific) via a countdown timer posted on the official Call of Duty website.

The new teaser video, entitled 'Superpower For Hire' and embedded below, looks into the real-life global rise of PMCs and their increasing employment in combat. Simultaneously, it confirms the prominent role PMCs will play in Call of Duty 2014, following previous hints on the official site in the form of hidden links pointing to articles involving PMCs.

The video starts with the quote, "In the next Call of Duty, the world's most powerful military is not a country. It's a corporation." It adds, "Could this actually happen?"

An accompanying video description also reads: "In the last 20 years, global combat has seen a steady shift towards the use of private military corporations, or PMCs. What happens when the highest bidder becomes the world's next superpower?"

Still surprises me how many people who hate Call of Duty come onto these posts just to talk smack. I like playing eSports on CoD, so I'm hoping that they bring an improved version of League Play back!

Call of Duty is boring now. They haven't made anything new to it. Its still gonna be the same old Multiplayer, Campaign and Spec Ops/Zombies

they game will just suck like ghosts, to much hype for nothing.

ModLuv4Ya It's sad that that the makers of COD refuse to put the game into the future, we've done the 20th century military shooter enough already. Let's go into the future of warfare. How about 1000 years into the future.

If they went 1000 years into the future then there wouldn't be real people in combat. It would most likely be robots or just a nuclear wasteland. I'm guessing 1000 years into the future there isn't going to be man on man combat.

They get you hyped by making the trailers good then when you actually play the game it blows. IT'S WHAT THEY DO!!!

That is the greatest trailer I've ever seen. And it seems like no one cares or notices that PMCs are actually dangerous, lol.

Please... be... good... (and optimize the game).
