Video: New Watch Dogs trailer defies the downgrade

4.4
A new trailer for Watch Dogs welcomes players to the near-future city of Chicago, showcasing its visual and cinematic qualities following claims that the game's visuals were not meeting expectations.

It also briefly flashes an image of a robot spider at about 3 minutes and 36 seconds in.

Fans made negative comparisons between a trailer released earlier in March and footage of the game from its announcement at E3 2012.

Aside from cybernetic arachnids, the trailer introduces the citizens of Chicago. Destructive players may find themselves tracked by bounty hunters, and those who opt-in to the ad-hoc multiplayer experience will find fellow hackers hiding in plain clothes - a subject we discussed in further detail with Watch Dogs lead writer Kevin Shortt.

Ubisoft has confirmed a Watch Dogs release date of May 27, 2014 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. A Wii U version is set to "release at a later date".

The title was originally set to release alongside PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2013, but Ubisoft says it would have needed to nix "several" systems to make that date.

Potion I just watched the provided trailer and it has really revived the hype i had for the game. I cannot wait for this game it is going to be better than GTA 5!

For what you can do in GTA no it wont be better but graphics wise and something different it will be a lot of fun

Is it just me, or do the graphics still look like outdated garbage. They used to look so good, actually next-gen, but have downgraded so much without an explanation other than that they've had even more time with it to improve...
I'm pretty disappointed with the result, as older games have much more appealing graphics.

Looks really amazing! This has sparked my interest in the game most definitely. Can't wait until it's released!

Yep, still looking pretty awesome. I still hope it plays and feels as good as it looks. Not sure how I am going to feel about the choices of the negative consequences. Hope it is lenient since accidents will occur. Also, I hope you can turn off the feature of people entering your world. Not a fan of that.

Possibly. I'm also glad they changed the release date, they must have had a lot of bugs to work out and wanted it resolved as well as making modifications to possibly be the next GTA.

Watch Dogs looks pretty awesome, I'll probably purchase it once it's released.

Raisin The more I see this game, the less I actually want it. I can't put my finger on why. I loved the first E3 footage.

I can totally agree with you. I will still get the game. Thats because a lot of my friends are going to get the game

I know right its not just with this game though its just like if the game takes so long getting released all the hype just dies down and you aren't excited for the game anymore
