Video: New Watch Dogs trailer defies the downgrade

4.4
A new trailer for Watch Dogs welcomes players to the near-future city of Chicago, showcasing its visual and cinematic qualities following claims that the game's visuals were not meeting expectations.

It also briefly flashes an image of a robot spider at about 3 minutes and 36 seconds in.

Fans made negative comparisons between a trailer released earlier in March and footage of the game from its announcement at E3 2012.

Aside from cybernetic arachnids, the trailer introduces the citizens of Chicago. Destructive players may find themselves tracked by bounty hunters, and those who opt-in to the ad-hoc multiplayer experience will find fellow hackers hiding in plain clothes - a subject we discussed in further detail with Watch Dogs lead writer Kevin Shortt.

Ubisoft has confirmed a Watch Dogs release date of May 27, 2014 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. A Wii U version is set to "release at a later date".

The title was originally set to release alongside PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2013, but Ubisoft says it would have needed to nix "several" systems to make that date.

FaIIen Still doesn't look that impressive to me compared to the initial reveal. Wasn't planning on getting this game anyways.

I agree, it has this weird "blocky" look to it. The design kinda remind me of how GTA IV looked.

Can't help but think it reminds me of gta4, graphically. I still want it but I just hope it's better than it looks.
