Flappy Birds creator 'considering' its return with added 'warnings'

4.1
Breakout viral hit Flappy Birds may one day make a return to smartphone app stores, says its creator Dong Nguyen.

Flappy Birds shot to fame earlier this year when the game inexplicably went viral, topping iOS and Android app stores with millions of downloads before Nguyen pulled the game down, explaining that it "ruins my simple life", and that the game had become too addictive for its players.

But speaking with Rolling Stone in a recent interview, the Vietnamese indie developer said the game, or a follow-up to it, may make a return.

"I'm considering it," he said when asked if Flappy Birds may come back.

While Nguyen said he's not currently working on a new version of the game, he did reveal that, should a follow-up materialize, it will come with a "warning" for players similar to that of many modern Nintendo games: "Please take a break."

Elsewhere in the interview, Nguyen revealed he's working on three new games, an unnamed 'cowboy-themed shooter', a 'vertical flying game called Kitty Jetpack' and an "action chess game" called Checkonaut. One, he said, will be released this month.

Cincinnati Sounds like an attention/money w****, in my opinion.

That is why I think he got rid of it in the first place, more people downloading it because he was going to take it down.

This guy only did all this crap just to boost sales and make a lot more on a squeal

I think I know why he's actually doing it. He probably took it down and going to "bring it back" to build up even more hype for it. Clever marketing technique.

Well I knew it wouldn't last long, as for his new game coming out this month that should be good and entertaining me.

Doing it for the publicity and hes greedy. Knew it wouldnt stay off for long

Everyone knew this would happen and was just a big publicity stunt.

daRealRush I figured he would've said that he is bringing it back become he needs the money or something like that.

But it's good to see that he wants people to take brakes! And I guess you could even say cares about peoples health, because he doesn't want them to play for too long.
