Titanfall found to launch at 792p on Xbox One

4.2
Titanfall has been confirmed by Respawn to officially launch running on the Xbox One at the same resolution as the beta, 792p. Below you can read some excerpts from lead engineer Richard Baker on post-release updates.

We’re going to experiment. The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We’re trying to optimize… we don’t want to give up anything for higher res. So far we’re not 100 per cent happy with any of the options, we’re still working on it. For day one it’s not going to change. We’re still looking at it for post-day one. We’re likely to increase resolution after we ship.

A lot of the performance is on the GPU side. There’s still room for optimization and we’re still working on it. Ideally it would have been a rock-solid 60 all the time when we shipped but obviously when there’s big fights going on, lots of particle effects, lots of physics objects… we’re still working to condense the systems, make them more parallel so we can hit 60 all the time, ideally.Respawn lead engineer Richard Baker

xx502xxmodz No eye can tell the difference between 1080p and 792p

Nuff said. #inb4hatecomments

The eye can actually tell the difference... The eye resolution is 4000p

Jovetic I don't understand how you have a next gen system without 1080p. IIRC you really don't need anti-aliasing on 1080p because of the high pixel density. I don't understand how they couldn't at least get 900p out of it. Isn't that what most xbox one games run at?

i don't understand why people complain about no 1080p.

I don't play on the xbox one so I really don't care what they run at. I play PC and I just got a monitor that's 1080p. There's a gigantic world of difference between 720p upscaled to 1080p (or 900p upscaled) and native 1080p.

1080p is so gorgeous and clear it's unreal. I really can't wait for 4k monitors to simmer down in price and GPUs to be able to easily run games at 4k res.
yeah i bet it is. but people like me honestly don't care at all. i could care less if the games resolution was 480p 720p 1080p or 4k. it's about the gameplay not the pixel count on screen.

I got the Xbox so they could make 1080p games tbh

As long as it does 720p then Im good because I cant tell the difference between 720p and 1080p.

Potion I don't see why they wouldn't launch it at 1080p my pc can run it at 1080p

Your PC is most likely more powerful than the Xbox One, that's why it runs at 1080p. The developers have two problems when developing for xbox:

1. They suck at optimizations
2. The Xbox One isn't that powerful.

Yeah developers are super shit at there jobs

That's why you buy their **** games

it's because the devs aren't fully using the consoles eSRAM. this is why we don't have 1080p. also MS didn't force devs to use 1080p they let them chose their own resolutions. give it maybe a year or 2 and X1 will get 1080p games.
