Tony Hawk developing new game with Activision

Activision is developing a new game in partnership with Tony Hawk, the publisher has confirmed.

Hawk, a professional skater who has starred in his own series of skateboarding games stretching back to 1999, revealed that he is "working on a game" during a recent radio show. "It's pretty cool," he said, without elaborating further.

Confirming the title, publisher Activision said in a follow-up statement, "Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk.

"More info is coming soon," it told IGN.

It's unclear if the new game will be a Tony Hawk Pro Skater title or something else. The last THPS game released was 2012's Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, a somewhat updated remake of the original 1999 PSone title.

It was developed by Robomodo and published by Activision.

I remember back in the day, I played Tony Hawk all the time on the Wii.

YES YES YES! I bought all of his old games and they were the best! I bought THPS HD, but it wasn't that good as the original. Then I went and moved to the Skate series.

Hopefully this game is just like the old ones and I will be happy.

Tony Hawk games were amazing! Undergound, Pro Skater, American Wasteland! all great games, so is Tony Hawk Shred :D I have that on Wii and Xbox!

Man, I hope they are like the old school games. Project 8 seemed to be one of the last good ones (though it had its problems.) Loved the Tony Hawk series so much. Still so sad when Kareem Campbell was no longer in the series. Dude was my favorite.

Please please please no more of these dumb realistic skateboarding simulator games. No motion controlled/board games, they were horrible. THUG 3 PLEASE, THUG and THUG 2 were the highlights of my childhood. If this is not possible, I would mind an AW or THPS game. Please Mr. Hawk, revive this great series!
