Square Enix "definitely" open to PC versions of future Final Fantasy

4.7
Yoshinori Kitase, series producer, told a leading gaming news venue that his company was "more than willing" to open up their Final Fantasy series to the PC. He went on to explain that while they had created previous games on PCs, they had simply not mastered any final PC versions of them due to unfavorable market trends and possible security concerns.

Let's not forget, when we developed the Final Fantasy 13 series, all three titles, at the early stages of development we were working on PC.

Then we had to port it to the consoles. As far as the technology is concerned, it would have been possible for us to make a PC version, but we decided against it for two reasons: we looked at the market situation and we didn't think it would be a good idea, and also it would have involved lots of complex issues like security. So we decided not to do it this time around.

But we see potential in it and there are lots of regions and countries where PC is very strong.

So in terms of our hope of being able to deliver our games to every single country in the world and to as many gamers as possible, yes, we would definitely be interested in pursuing that route in the future.

Multitask I Can't wait for final fantasy 15 where we finally don't take turns in attacking :).

In none of the 13 branch was it turn based.

Resort i think anime type games are really boring, thats my opinion. I just dont see them being interesting

Calyx This game looks pretty childish to me, not sure if it is meant to be though.

I completely agree with both of these points. The game looks boring IMO and looks as if it is meant to be for little kids who are new to gaming. Although, I've never played it. Then again, I never will.

Definitely a great idea. This is cool and all, but what about Kingdom Hearts 3? I'm probably not going to get the new consoles and if they're willing to put FF on PC they should add KH to that line-up as well.

I have never played any of the Final Fantasy's.

Miss Have never played any FFs before but one on a PC sounds quite interesting.

They don't look very appealing to me.

About time it came back! Really need a great set up to get the best out of it though.
