Microsoft allays delays fears following Halo omission from 2014 games list

An Xbox rep has reaffirmed that Halo 5 for Xbox One will be released in 2014.

Microsoft's senior PR manager for Halo, Rob Semsey, moved to appease the concerns of gamers who noted that, in an announcement on Monday regarding Xbox One sales, Microsoft exec Yusif Mehdi left Halo out of his list of anticipated Xbox One games coming in 2014.

Mehdi boasted of a "promising" lineup of Xbox One titles in 2014, touting Titanfall, Watch Dogs and several other games, but no mention of Halo 5 - which was announced at E3 last year for a 2014 release.

But this is not an indication of a delay, assured Semsey via Twitter. "Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," he reasoned (although the title is expected to be 'Halo 5').

"Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014," he added.

Mehdi announced that Microsoft had sold more than three million Xbox One units by the end of 2013 globally. "It's been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox", he said.

I really hope the X1 Brings back competitive Halo, After the pro Halo scene died off most of the players went to COD i.e BigTymer, MrX, Schandi, Pistola, Crimsix It'll be interesting to see how it fairs against the new blockbusters coming in 2014.

I can't wait for this, I've always loved the Halo series. Although Halo 4 wasn't as good as I thought, hopefully this will make up for it.

Halo Reach and Halo 4 Ruined my Halo Love and ive played since the first Halo through Gamespyarcade before xbox live was even out.. Microsoft has forced them to push to hard and to change too much #@$! Your Halo 5 i wont be buying it the second i see armor abilites and loadouts.. youve lost 6 Copies this year..

I've never been a Halo fan, to be honest.

It's a nice thing to see them keeping up with their series onto the Next-Gen console though.

LOL im total opposite, loved halo 2 and halo 3 was probably the best game i have ever played, i liked the simplicity but then halo 4 came out :)

I've never been a die hard Halo fan but I have always enjoyed the games that the series puts out and always try to play them.

From what I've seen this games looks pretty good.
