Xbox One console delays: “it never feels good,” says Spencer

4.6
Xbox One was delayed in several territories just before the holidays, and Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has voiced his dismay at the matter.

It follows the delay of Xbox One to Q3 2014 in Nordic territories, affecting Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Now, speaking with OXM, Spencer said, “I wish we had the global coverage that we originally announced when we stood on stage at E3,” and added, “I stood on stage and talked about 21 markets … there were things around the voice models and other things we needed to make sure were right in order to really build a box that felt native to the markets we were shipping in.

“It never feels good to stand on stage and talk about 21 markets and ship in 13, but it’s a journey, and it’s not won or lost the day after launch. It will be something that plays out, so making sure the quality of each market when we ship is the important part.”

Regardless, Spencer feels that Xbox One’s launch line-up is strong enough as it is to hold consumer interest for the time being.

Hopefully people in those said places will be able to buy the console in the near future. I'm sure Microsoft is working for fix the delays and all

It effected both of the consoles pretty badly initially. Both are starting to get a little better now though

Wow, at least Microsoft is addressing this issue with the community. We'll see if those consumers will wait patiently. Personally, Sony has done a way better job of providing their consoles to those certain regions. I hope Microsoft picks up their slack.
