PS4 sold 66% more units than Xbox One last month – Pachter

4.5
PlayStation 4 is significantly outselling Xbox One, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said in a recent note to investors.

As reported by MCV, Pachter estimates the PS4 sold 1.25 million units in the US during the month of November, while the Xbox One sold 750,000 – putting the PS4 in front by 66% more unit sales.

Before you sound the victory bell, remember the PS4 launched on November 15, giving it 15 says on sale during the month, while the Xbox One launched on November 22, leaving it just eight days.

Pachter’s estimates, which we’ll know the accuracy of once the November NPD report releases, suggest sales of new consoles have come at a cost to existing hardware. The analyst believes the PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360′s hardware sales have fallen 28%, 65% and 44% year-on-year respectively.

Pachter has always been a strong believer in Microsoft but has warned the platform holder must drop the price on the Xbox One or PS4 will “win” this generation.

Cut It makes sense to buy the cheaper console because you have to buy games, pay for online, etc.
And the specs are almost the same? Correct me if I'm wrong

sorta, but the xbox is more technically advanced meaning it will probably be able to hold it's own better then ps4 in the upcoming years. That being said, currently they are virtually the same machine with a different OS.

No it isn't,the PS4 is more advanced / powerful than XBOX One but it's the games that matter as Nintendo have shown again and again you don't need the best specs to make the best games.

When the xboens esram is fuly utilised, it will actually slightly outpreform the ps4 on base hardware.

Couple that with the many more features, there's only one way to go.

No it won't and people don't want "Kinect features" that's why more people bought PS4.Kinect only works some of the time and only has 1 decent game,Kinect Sports which you wouldn't really wanna play for long anyways. What are these "Many more features?" as outside of the US the TV thing doesn't even work and people already have a TV that works as a "TV".I'd rather just play games than wave my arms about and repeat everything 10 times because Kinect doesn't understand basic actions and words and makes you wanna smash it up!!

joeisjoe5 If you do the maths then you will realise that Xbox One has an estimate of 93,750 units sold per day, compared to PS4's 83,333 units per day. I am not against either console, they are both amazing and I think people should just agree on that.

where did you pull those numbers from? your buttonhole?

It's in the article mate. If Microsoft sold 75.0,000 console in 8 days, you divide 750,000 by 8 and you get 93,750. If Sony sold 1.25 mill in 15 days, you divide 1.25 mill by 15 and you get 83,333. Mathematical speaking if they both came out at the same time, the Xbox one would have sold more it the US during Nov then the PS4.

gotta realize, playstation fanboys tend to not actually think.
You sir are a genious. JK it's simple math but props mate

Hoop Not really suprised to be honest, both are great consoles however people tend to get the cheapest option.

I suppose not everyone has $500 around this time of year. I can see Microsoft being a run up.

People have $500 (in reality it will be around $550 after taxes) it just people aren't going to pay $500 when they can save $100 when converting over to PS4. Also people have to understand that new gamers are going to dictate the future. So if parents are buying their kids PS4's for Xmas then the PS4 will win this generation. I mean it doesn't really matter or effect me. I have the X1 and i love it. Just because the PS4 sells more doesn't mean that it will cause my gaming experience to drop.

Once Microsoft lower the price of the xbox one the sales will rocket but until then Sony will be superior in sales
