Xbox owners having trouble downloading Battlefield 4 DLC

4.7
Xbox owners are reporting issues downloading the China Rising map pack for Battlefield 4.

A status update on the official Xbox website warns that the "purchase and content usage" service is currently "limited" on both Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Microsoft posted a further message on the page late on Tuesday night, assuring gamers that it is trying to fix the problem.

The statement reads: "Hi Xbox members, are you having difficulties trying to get the new China Rising map pack for Battlefield 4? We are currently working with our partner to get this issue resolved. Thanks for all your patience while we work. We'll update you when work is complete."

Reports also suggest that those who are able to download the China Rising pack are suffering a new slate of game-breaking technical glitches.

Following a troubled launch that prompted a good-will double XP event, new issues with the China Rising DLC have been widespread enough for EA to publish a post specifically addressing the most common problems players are encountering.

PC players being kicked from China Rising servers will have to wait for Dice to issue a fix. "DICE have identified the issue and is implementing a solution to the problem. This fix will take some time to be fully completed, but players should be noticing normal gameplay behavior soon," said EA.

And for Xbox 360 players who are completely unable to join China Rising games, EA said: "We're investigating this issue and will provide updates as quickly as possible."

The Battlefield 4 China Rising DLC launched on all platforms for Battlefield Premium members on Tuesday. Premium subscribers will receive exclusive access to the content for two weeks before it's released to the general public on December 17. China Rising was also offered as a Battlefield 4 pre-order bonus.

Metered I think most of the errors are because it's being rushed out the door without actual testing.

How do you figure that?
They had more time then they had on the previous versions to get this game out.

Eta Not more bugs? EA is beyond a joke.

Yeah they seem to have quite the issues lately.

They always have issues, lmao.

You do know it's not EA producing the game correct? EA publishes the game and has only a certain percentage of what is said to go through on the content. DICE is the real backbone to the BF games at the moment and unfortunately, they haven't gotten their heads out of their a$$es yet.

No, it's EA's fault. They pushed DICE to hurry up and finish the game so they can get it on shelves. They don't give a **** if it's an unfinished game, it's DICE's job to piece it all together months after it's been released.

But DICE did just release an interview about what they are wanting to work on to add into next BF5. They discussed real-time weather events and time zone lighting. ( http://mp1st.com/2013/12/01/dice-ceo-wants-see-local-time-weather-reflected-battlefield-4-multiplayer-maps/ ) And even though DICE says they are not moving on from BF4 just yet, but thats all PR. DICE has just about as much fault here as EA.

Thlack Why are there so many damn problems with this game? It's still incredible but I would think a company like Dice would have ironed most of these problems out.

Well, when you have EA up your ass for a release before Christmas things tend to get rushed. Plus they're using the new Frostbite 3 engine so when you get rushed like they did it is more than likely to have a good amount of bugs in it. Which it does lol.
