Microsoft: We are "selling every Xbox One we can make"

4.7
Earlier today, Sony announced that after the launch of the PlayStation 4 in 30 more markets in Europe and Latin America last week, it has now sold over 2.1 million units of the console since it was first released in the U.S and Canada on Nov. 15. However, it appears that Microsoft seems to be more reluctant to offer any updated sales numbers for the Xbox One, which launched in 13 markets on Nov. 22.

Back then, Microsoft said it sold over one million Xbox One units in its first 24 hours. Today, in a statement sent to AllThingsD, Yusuf Mehdi, the Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Microsoft's Xbox division, offered this rather vague update on sales of the console:

Eleven days in we are seeing record breaking sales and are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world.

Unfortunately, that optimistic statement did not come with a updated sales figure for the Xbox One, as Sony offered today for the PS4. There is evidence from a third party consumer study that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 in the U.S. last week during Black Friday. Hopefully the company will offer some concrete figures on this subject soon.

Lia It's pretty much impossible to get a console in a big city unless you want to wait a few hours before the store opens to go get one.

Cokes I don't know if EVERYONE wants to buy one at this point. Amazon had Xbox's available for over 5 hours after more were in stock. PS4 was sold after 3 minutes of more becoming available.

That doesn't mean anything.
If it does mean anything, it would mean that MS has made more Xbox than Sony has made PS's.

Amazon put the same amount of consoles up for sale at the time. It doesn't matter how many they made, it matters of how many were available for purchase. In this case, the number was the same by Amazon. Clearly shows the PS4 is more favorable right now at this moment. Which in my opinion, is because it is cheaper.

I work in a store that sells both and Xbox has been sending almost double to my store. For instance on black friday there were 18 PS4s and 30 XBONEs. So no it does not necessarily mean that Amazon had the same amount of each.

According to their supervisor they had the same amount of each console. I had trouble ordering mine so I had to be transferred to around 5 supervisors before I could even place my order. You referring to the Xbox as an Xbone show's the biased opinion so I wouldn't take yours into opinion to be honest.

My family friend is a trucker and delivers consoles and was also one of the reasons I was able to know where to get my xbox, any ways he delivered a truck load of xbox ones and he said roughly 1/4 of his past amount of consoles have been PS4.I don't really care anyways but you saying a console is more favorable based off one site and absolutely no sources really does not back up the claim you are trying to make.

The gamestop i went to on black friday to pick up my second PS4 only had 6 PS4's and 10 Xbones. Both sold out fairly quickly but PS4 was the main thing the first 40 people or so in line were wanting to get. Somebody offered me $100 then and there for my spot in line for the PS4 (I was 6/6 in line for a PS4) but the price is just too good on Amazon and Ebay for only $100 profit.
The Xbones had only sold 6/10 about an hour into the ordeal. I don't know what it is but PS4 just seems to be more popular a.t.m., but the Xbones are selling because when I came back the next morning to grab another year of PS+ for 30 bucks they were sold out by then (Xbones).

I think the Xbox One is better, although the PS4 is selling a lot more.
