Microsoft acknowledges Xbox One online issues

4.7
Microsoft has responded to customer reports that online services for the Xbox One have experienced periodic outages.

Following the console's launch in Australia and Europe, Xbox One online services, including the official Xbox website, have experienced intermittent connection issues.

Microsoft has acknowledged the problems, and while online services are now restored the company assures users that it is investigating the cause of the problem.

"Microsoft can confirm that all online services have been restored. We are investigating the root cause of the disruption and will continue to keep customers updated as information becomes available," a Microsoft representative told Games Industry.

November 22 marks the launch date for Xbox One in Europe, Australia and North America. An Australian retailer has warned customers that stock of the console is rapidly depleting leading up to Christmas.

Meanwhile, Microsoft corporate VP Phil Harrison has acknowledged that the company will face challenges meeting demand in the period before Christmas.

-LOST- Hopefully they can sort it out. Don't wanna deal with any outages when I get my console.
Yeah, hopefully they're sorted out in less than a couple days...

ODST I'm still so confused as to how the "PS4 sucks" because of it's launch problems yet Xbone can't even connect to online and nobody cares. Fanboys are weird.

Because a bricked and useless console is worse than temporarily not being able to connect online b/c of flooding. Big difference. Give it a couple hours, if that, and everyone should connect fine.

@ODST
'yet Xbone can't even connect to online and nobody cares'
firstly, PS4 had an even worse problem with the outage, where as Xbox didn't actually cut out full as the servers could hold up, but were struggling at some points, therefore PS4 is a lot worse. They obviously don't have the Server power compared to XB1

I would have to agree fanboys like you are weird, you don't even read the articles or details if that comment is what you really think. Do research before opening your mouth.

Actually youre wrong. only 0.4% of people with ps4 had a bricked console.. do you know how many people that is? not many.. and again youre wrong, psn was never fully down, i had friends signed in and playing while it was "down", and in 2 HOURS it was FULLY working, no problems the rest of the day.

you xbox one fan **** need to stop being so butthurt

And where did you get those statistics? Your fantasy? And you're a joke, you don't have any friends.

Research you *******.. Or better yet just look at playstation news on the home page.. And yes i know i have no friends, because youre butthurt that xbox blows cuck

I personally think you're all being stupid. And need to grow up. Especially when you're attacking eachother over the Internet.
Do you really believe that they would give the actual number? There is NO way that they could of got that figure in less than a month of launch, nevermind less than a week...

DNaDee 300k servers and XBL still went down. What a joke lmao. It really sucks for the people trying to go all digital, since the **** bluray drive chews up your hard copies of games LOL

People that bought the Xbox One should've spent that 500$ on a new iPad. You can get all of the cool apps that Xbox gets AND it probably plays games in the same resolution lolol
I'd love to see you try and manage THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND (300,000) servers...

DontBeStupid All of you that are still ***** about the "console war" are really pathetic, act your age, just sit back and enjoy gaming. You all have a mutual interest and are on this site to share the experience, right? Stop fighting, just enjoy it.

The problem is, they are acting their age ;)

Anything new will always have problems.

Exactly, but there are the people who can't wait for the problem to be fixed. "Impatient people"

Says this because of connection issues? Giving the gaming community a good rep I see.

I can't help but laugh when I think about these problems arising with next generation consoles. My original gameboy still operates fine from day one using four batteries and the xbox one can't even operate on release day? It's sad to see this happen when so much technology is packed inside a game console.
