Sony has increased the friend limit on PSN to 2,000 ahead of PS4

Sony has increased the friend limit on PSN to 2,000 ahead of PlayStation 4′s launch next week.

PS4 supports up to 2,000 online friends, an expansion of the 100 friends limit for the PS3 system.

The PS3 system will continue to support up to 100 friends at one time. If you build a friend list bigger than 100 on PS4, Vita, network servers will automatically filter your friend’s list when you play on a PS3 system.

Additionally, you will be able to set and lock a pre-determined friends list to be used while you play on the PS3 system.

Support for the ability to display all of your friends in most applications and games is planned, however, some titles will be limited to the current 100 Friends limit.

I dont even know that many people, definitely not that many I want to play with.

If friends requests go to the top over players online and offline players are at the bottom they have completely **** up

1000 on Xbox one. But i would never need that Many, but its good that they have it both


Having the high limit is still good though, i couldn't see myself having more then 100 friends on either console

Dang 2,000 friends is just crazy. It'll be good for famous youtubers, but still 2,000 is just nuts.

1000 on Xbox one. But i would never need that Many, but its good that they have it both


It'd be quite funny seeing 300+ people online. I can see it getting quite annoying though when ever someone signs in because it will be quite frequent.

Eta No one could personally know 2000 people who play PS4. That's a huge amount.


At least you will never hear the "sorry my friends list is full" excuse anymore
