PS4 teardown video shows what's under the hood

4.4
There are some people who get all hot and bothered at the sight of processors, heatsinks and disc drives in the raw. If you fit into this category, you might want to prepare a cold shower.

This video, courtesy of Wired, shows the first 'teardown' of the PlayStation 4, showing all its inner workings.

This isn't any amateur teardown where some knob pre-orders a PS4 and forces it open with a sledgehammer, though. This is the real deal.

The video is hosted by Sony engineering director Yasuhiro Ootori, who knows the console inside-out. There's no speculation or "I wonder if this is the RAM" rubbish here - everything Ootori-san says is 100 per cent fact.

In August, when Sony announced a PS4 release date of November 15 in the US and November 29 in Europe, the company said more than one million PS4 pre-orders had been placed worldwide.

VANAGON I've always modified 360's and I gotta say I really like the PS4's design, the heatsink looked really big, and I LOVE how they are always able to include the power supply INSIDE the console.

honestly, id rather have the power brick outside. why not that not big ole chunk of energy out and use that space for somethin else. your gonna have a cord goin to an outlet anyways.

EstablishedGaming Thats amazingly built but why would they show a video how to dismantle the console this could cause issues now modification is bound to happen showing your customers how to dismantle the console lool

Do you think people are too stupid to figure it out on there own? It takes like 5 min. to take an Xbox 360 apart you know.

Console That's cool, but now I want to see the Xbox one taken apart... Lol

I could see them doing a video such as this for the Xbox One in response to this one. Hopefully we will be able to see one in the near future
