PS4 party voice chat will support up to eight users

4.5
Commenting on a PlayStation Blog post, PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman confirmed party voice chat on the PlayStation 4 will support up to eight users, just like the Vita. Speaking of the Vita, the two platforms will be able to communicate with each other via party voice chat, which will be great for titles with cross-play. The PS4 is due on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe and beyond.

Eight people in a group chat is a great number!

Falsified With six people, in the party, it is chaotic! I don't fancy a party with more than five people.

I find it kind of depends on the group of people you are with. If you are with immature kids who like to scream and talk over you, then yes it is chaotic but when you are with a group of people who aren't like that, it's good to have a larger group.

Pretty cool how you can chat across different platforms.

Katsumi Eight is a pretty good number when it comes to party chat. Any more then that would be absolutely chaotic

platyui Dang, I didn't even know that they didn't have this. I guess I just got so used to it on the 360 that I thought the ps3 already had it.

It came as a surprise to me when i first purchased a PS3 but not having it really isn't that bad. I very rarely use it on the Xbox 360 and i can still communicate with friends through game chat

I would say the same thing. BUT, my friends like to play cod and forza. Now me on the other hand like to play cod, battlefield, forza, madden, gta, and pretty much any free roam game like skyrim darksiders ect.. Since we have a small yt together we are always talking to each other so the party chat really comes in handy on the xbox.

Good to hear it confirmed. And I don't understand why you would want more than eight in one party. It's obnoxious when everyone speaks at the same time. 8 is fine. And when the person who created it is hosting it, anything over 8 can really slow down an internet connection. They should add a 'best host' feature. Not necessarily party leader, but just host.
