Grand Theft Auto Online micro-transaction details and prices revealed

4.2
The rumours are true. Grand Theft Auto Online has micro-transactions, and they’ll cost between £1.99 and £13.49. This will buy you individual packs of in-game money.

Eurogamer has spoken to people with early access to Grand Theft Auto Online, and has the details. There will be 4 GTA Online currency cards, with the following UK prices:

- $100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99
- $200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49
- $500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99
- $1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49

With less than a week before the online modes go live, it seems unlikely that these details will change too severely.

The price of items will vary between the single-player game and Online. So a property that may cost several million in your own game will far cheaper in the Online mode. The most expensive property will set you back $400,000. Conversely, weapon and car mods will be more expensive online so that they’re out of reach when you first start playing.

So, buy spending your real world cash on in-game currency, a low-level player can get faster access to improved vehicles and weaponry.

We can expect full details about GTA Online to be confirmed by Rockstar very soon.

Deranged Lmao I don't know why everyone's Gettin pissy 1.2mil isn't even worth anything if its the same prices as GTA 5 that money will be gone in a heartbeat

It'd help your response if you actually read the article.

Opticals This takes all the fun out of it. Some little rich kid is going to grab daddys wallet and his friends all will have tanks and 200million dollars. not cool, man.

But really, this is really disappointing. I don't want to keeps spending money and my time just to keep up with people.

I know right, the best crew will be the one with the kids spending the most money on it, which isn't the point of GTA.

Technology A bit disappointing seeing Rockstar take this route. wasn't the $700m+ profit in first 3 days alone enough? doing this seems a little greedy.

So you would rather want them to have this Money DLC for free so everyone can start out with a nice car and a awesome house ? Lol, it's just an extra DLC that you can buy..

LOL, someone is obviously pro-micro-transactions. It ruins the game for everyone that actually wants to experience the game and work there way up. There mine as well be money hack DAY 1 of GTA 5 online, since it gives other player advantages with weapons and vehicles.

Pro ? Lol are you dumb who cares if they want to waste 15 dollars on fake money go ahead doesn't bother me I was just stating my opinion.
It does ruin the game a bit for those who achieved it legit. All these hackers will mod the money anyway so anyone stupid enough to buy this I feel sorry for...

B3yondLiF3 I think this will just make the online boring if you buy money i mean one of the main things for online is to make the money yourself doing various things.

No it won't. If you play online you'll still do the same things. Money is there for the kids who aren't in gangs

I suppose that this could be a good thing for those who don't have the time to spend on making all their cash legit, and instead they can take this option and buy the in game cash. I how ever will be going all legit. As will many others :)

It was but they know some people like to get ahead so here's the opportunity

It's a smart idea, Rockstar knows people want to get ahead of there friends so they are doing this. It's an easy way to get money.
