Minecraft PC texture packs may come to Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition

4.4
A post on Microsoft’s PlayXLBA site discusses the newfound ability to create texture packs for Minecraft on console, and says “we are going to talk to the teams behind our favourite PC texture sets and see if we can sort something out.”

here is the full post about the subject.

“What about PC textures? they’re easy to do, why don’t you give us those, we want them…now…come on???”
We too love the texture sets that you can get on PC, but it’s not so simple as loving-them-and-it-happens, just because they appear to be ready on PC doesn’t mean we can just bring them to Xbox. There would be a good chunk of work to be done by 4J Studios to make them shine on Xbox and we’d have to make sure we get the proper permissions to be able to actually do it (which also isn’t simple).
What we are saying to you guys is that we are going to talk to the teams behind our favourite PC texture sets and see if we can sort something out. We can’t promise that anything will come from this but we’ll keep the community informed as and when we have some news.

I Wonder how they would do it
DLC, or would it be like Halo File Shares ?

I can't wait until they start making texture packs that aren't based on other games, and make ones like realism pack or let us make our own.

Dr-PonyfilePosted:

It will make them a lot more money but they have to look at the costs of converting them to the 360 as that may not come cheap with the licensing etc.

AppzePosted:

do it already they will make more dough

TomorrowLandPosted:

They might have to charge because all the legal signings cost a bomb...

I would rather pay for $25 for a minecraft account and get unlimited free texture packs than to get 5 texture packs each worth $5 for the xbox.

I would NOT pay for that. But i mean i guess some other people might buy it.

That is going to be so sick!

If they're free on PC, they better be free on Xbox. I don't mind if the packs 4J makes costs, but a pack on pc which is free shouldn't cost on the console
