Apple launches iOS 7, along with new interface for iCloud

4.5
As promised last week, Apple has now begun to allow older iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices to start downloading iOS 7. This free update to Apple's mobile OS is a pretty major one, in terms of the changes the company has made to its user interface. It does away with the old icon design in favor of a "flat" look, much like Windows Phone devices currently have. You can expect to see many popular iOS apps to be updated over the next several days that will use the new look of iOS 7.

iOS 7 is also supposed to have a new method to search, an improved way to group images in Photos, and more. Apple has even thrown in a male voice for the first time to its Siri voice recognition system in this new update. Along with iOS 7, Apple has also made iTunes 11.1 available for download, adding in features such as iTunes Radio, where people can listen to 250 streaming radio channels or make their own. It also has Podcast Stations, where users can make their own podcast collections that automatically update with new episodes.

Apple has also decided to give its iCloud website interface a new look, one that is almost identical to the flat look of iOS 7. Apple has thrown in new interfaces for several apps including Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Find my iPhone.

I updated to iOS 7 as soon as I got home from my classes.

I really like it and a lot better than iOS 6.

I think they made a good improvement and change with this.

RicardoHill-Henry Why much people always start an Apple v.s. Android debate.. I'm an Android user, and I can car less whether or not the other person has Android or iPhone. It's there phone, and I can care less in regards to which is "better", as long as my phone runs smoothly I have no complaints...

I feel the same way, it's their phone, they use it not me so why should it bother me? Some people just like causing arguments :/

Urf I honestly see nothing significant in this update. Just some redesigned apps. Oh well. I expect this **** from Crapple.

This is exactly why I switched to Android.

Whys that, so you can lag around on a phone operating system on the go?

Wow, I didn't know my phone lagged. Seemed pretty smooth to me. Interesting. Secondly, any phone can lag.

Firstly if your "android" phone doesn't lag yet that means its almost new :P wait a while till it starts and you won't be able to do anything about it

I've had this phone for a year and a half. It's the Xperia Play. This thing is a hunk of ****, but with what I've done to it, it remains fine. And guess what, while your iPhail is having issues, mine is speeding along on 3 year old hardware on a 2 month old OS.

As far as lagging and how fast phones go, there are a ton of Android phones that have a way faster and better processor than the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 does have a pretty damn good screen resolution and ppi, and a pretty good camera, but I had a kind of low end Android that cost $200 prepaid (keep in mind prepaid phones usually cost a ton so this is a pretty cheap phone) which was the Evo 3D, and had it for about a year and it NEVER lagged and I did absolutely nothing to it to prevent it from lagging. I'm not hating on the iPhone but don't be a fanboy and hate on Android. Oh and by the way, you can do A LOT more on Android than on iOS. If you disagree, please tell me 3 things you can do on iOS that you can't do on Android. I can probably name about 10 things you can do on Android that you can't on iOS. Apple fanboys, stop hating. Oh ONE MORE THING, the reason why iOS is so smooth and easy to use is because they only have to develop it for ONE PHONE, where as Android, they have to adjust it at least a little for each individual phone, and theres HUNDREDS.

Finally someone that knows what they are talking about. But that is how it works. The only apps that get put on the Apple Store are ones that are optimized for their latest phone and their latest phone is the one that gets their latest firmware. Your old iPod is more than capable of handling Angry Birds, it's just they want to take your money as much as possible.

Oh and on topic, I actually think iOS looks so much better than iOS 6. And they added a ton of new features. Pretty cool
