Install GTA 5 'Play' disc to USB for Xbox 360 workaround

4.7
While Rockstar doesn't recommend installing the second "Play" disc for GTA 5 on your Xbox 360 hard drive, the fine folks at Digital Foundry have found a workaround. Installing the disc to the hard drive presents texture and frame rate issues, but installing that disc to a USB flash drive produces much more favorable results.

Digital Foundry warns mileage may vary depending on the flash drive you use, and it's definitely suggested you go with a 16GB stick over an 8GB model if possible. As you can see in the video above, the USB install clears a lot of the texture pop-in that comes from streaming off the Xbox 360 disc alone.

Grand Theft Auto 5 officially launched today on the PS3 and Xbox 360. In our review, we cited complaints with the story's focus on deplorable characters, but found the sandbox to be the best Rockstar has ever created.

I did this way before they "found it"

They should just make it available on the marketplace.

I simply want this to be available for download on the Marketplace. I really don't want to have to buy 2 copies of this game. One for 360, the other for One.

u_u Its funny how I dont see a difference in that video

-Amp Judging from the video, I don't see much of a difference.

That's the point..
If you read OP it says this is a way to still have the same quality without lag while keeping your disc quiet.

Juggahax0r_TTG I'm sorry but if anyone thinks there is a difference in those 2 videos side-by-side, I want whatever it is you're smoking ... I could understand if they actually found differences to record and show, but they didn't. I don't see any textures popping in anywhere and there is no noticeable slow down or lag in the game running from disc ..

That was the point to show that they're alike. There is a video with it having the Xbox HDD install and other parts wouldn't render as fast.

If you had the game, you'd notice, i have the digital version of ps3, it has pop textures to ANYWHERE you havent been to before or havent loaded the video, its kinda a bummer, but xbox edition is coming, ima try this theory on xbox slim REACH edition/ im sure it'll be smoother /

Honestly, I didn't see any difference in either one of them.
