Xbox One reputation system not carried over from 360

4.8
The Xbox One reputation system will not incorporate information from Xbox 360 users, meaning previous troublemakers will have a chance to make a fresh start.

As part of an IGN Q&A session, chief Xbox One platform architect Marc Whitten was asked whether everyone's reputation will carry over the two systems.

"We will not carry over any of the 360 reputation scores into the new Xbox One reputation system," Whitten replied. "The majority of members will start fresh at the 'good' player level."

Whitten also made it clear, however, that the more recent troublemakers will not receive this privilege. They will instead begin with a "needs work" reputation level.

"We will be working with the Xbox Live enforcement team that has identified a small subset of members that have recently had enforcement actions taken against them", Whitten explained.

"This will give those members a chance to prove they can participate on Live fairly, and are not automatically placed in the 'Avoid Me' classification where things like SmartMatch filtering will affect them."

Microsoft first discussed the Xbox One's 'advanced troll detection' in July, with Microsoft's senior product manager Mike Lavin explaining how it worked.

"There'll be very good things that happen to people that just play their games and are good participants," Lavin told OXM. "And you'll start to see some effects if you continue to play bad or, or harass other people en masse. You'll probably end up starting to play more with other people that are more similar to you."

The rep system was a bit of a joke anyway... Didn't really do anything apart from let kids avoid you because you beat them.

unvers I was banned till 9999 for harassment. Does this mean once the xbox one come's out I'm going to be unbanned?

No a banned account stays banned. But if you made a new account that
"50% prefer and 50% avoid" will drop

Haaris-360 lots clans who hat each other are prosperously going to ruin each others rep lol !

Maybe, but you will never get suspended/Ban for being to good or bad at a game. Same rules apply as the 360. Follow the code of conduct and you should be fine.

MPAA And once this new system kicks in, no one will care much like they don't for the 360, rep is meaningless. Just give people the chance to avoid player and a report to MS option for ToS breakers, that should be enough for any sane person.

I feel like reporting the players never works. I once received death threats, telling me and my family should get cancer & that he was going to find where I live and kill me. All of these messages (5) I kept in my Xbox live inbox and I reported this both on Xbox Live and the Xbox forums. This was around a month or two ago now & the guy still hasn't been banned from xbox live or had anything done to him.

It's unbelievable that someone can say this. Xbox Live reporting is failed
