Xbox One supports partial-download play

4.5
The Xbox One will allow users to play games while they are being downloaded, a Microsoft representative confirmed with Polygon this week.

Microsoft previously noted that players could begin playing disc-based games during installation, though the company did not specify whether games downloaded from Xbox Live would share similar functionality. Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 supported partial-download play earlier this year.

Diffucult Yeah but it is totally just like the Ps4 D: i know the XBOX One won't be that good.

I think that both consoles are shaping up nicely. While i prefer the PS4 the Xbox One looks like a great console now that the DRM has been removed

MW2-Rush This is gonna be a really great feature!

Having download play is a massive plus when it comes to download a game to me. I have slow internet and it really helps me out. Microsoft seems to just keep improving the xbox one

Whirl Whats the point of this? Are we this impatient that we can't wait for downloads to be complete? and what happens if you come to a part of the game that hasn't been downloaded yet? Will it Crash? These are all important questions that I would love answers to

this will benefit the people with crap internet the most and being a customer of windstream this is greatly appreciated. i'm assuming you would have to wait until like 30% downloaded which will contain the basic parts of the game and the rest can be downloaded as played. they will figure out a way to make the service good, i wouldn't worry too much.

VPS idk how this would be possible but whatever floats there boat

You just download a fraction of the game needed, then you can start playing while the rest of the game downloads in the back. You would still need a good connection for this to work flawlessly but it's still a good addition ;)
