PS4 dev kit specs and unit design revealed

4.5
PlayStation 4 dev kits have been with developers for some time, but they haven’t been shown in public. Documents listed by the Federal Communications Commission have given gamers a glimpse at the unit studios have been working with, along with a system spec sheet.

The docuements were posted by the FCC and picked up by Engadget today.

Here’s what a PS4 dev kit looks like. Note the increased number of ports compared to the old version.

You're all a bunch of r e t a r d s. Clock speed means virtually nothing. A 1.8GHz hexa core Xeon is better than a 3.4GHz dual core i3.

I'm going to sit here and explain this for ya'll. The 2.75GHz is NOT the clock speed, it is the clock frequency that is coming from the GPU. The CPU clock speed in the PS4 has not been released yet and were going off of rumors for that. To the people who said "2.75GHz? My PC/Laptop is 3.2GHz WTF Sony!?" If the clock speed's were very high that could cause temperature problems and cause PS4's to overheat and break. It was good for them to keep the clock speed down because now the PS4 temp's are around 3-35 degree C which is good. Hopefully this will help you understand this article better and can calm down the ranting somewhat.

OmittingCoder 2.75Ghz is pretty low. My computer goes to 3.8Ghz.

 that's because it's a computer and not a tiny little console.

2.75GHZ? Are you for real?
