Hackers target Arma studio's website

4.7
Bohemia Interactive, the studio behind the popular Arma series of sandbox military games, is reporting that hackers have withdrawn personal information from its user database.

"We have unfortunately discovered that an illegal attempt has been made to access certain of our online websites, leading to the download of a database containing usernames, email addresses and encrypted passwords," reads a statement on the Bohemia website.

It goes on to state that since the passwords were encrypted "it is very unlikely that anything nefarious can be done with this information".

Bohemia also stresses that no other information, such as credit card details, is stored on its servers and as such was not at risk from this attack.

Bohemia has reset the password of every user as a response to this attack, and advises players won't be able to log in until they create a new password. To do so, players have to visit this site, enter their email address and choose 'get a new password'.

The newest Arma game, Arma 3, is currently in the Beta stage and will be officially released later this year.

A recent Arma 3 gameplay video showed the range of military combat tactics that can be implemented in the game.

That would be quite amusing, because Microsoft fanboys are constantly complaining about that one occasion with Sony in the past.

I'd get a kick out of that one!

unlikely, Microsoft really does have top tier security and even if it was hacked which is possible don't get me wrong i doubt any real damage could be done assuming the probably crypt and hash everything.
