Xbox Live Gold free games pinned for 1st and 16th of each month

Microsoft pinned monthly dates to its Games With Gold promotion, with the Xbox Live Gold freebies due on the 1st of 16th of each month. As revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference, Gold subscribers gain access to two free Xbox 360 games each month until the end of the year. Fable 3 was the first offering, with Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2 already announced as July's dynamic duo.

"As our way of saying thanks for being part of this community, we're giving all qualifying Gold members two free Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year." reads the promotion's site. "Each specially selected, fan-favorite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they're gone and keep them no matter what."

..So lets say you download the game now and, I don't know, somehow manage to accidently format your hard drive. Can you go back and download it again or are you just SOL at that point? Because it was my understanding that you could download it whenever SO LONG as you initially downloaded it within the 15 days it was offered, and this article is suggesting otherwise..

This means that you can downoad it from the 1st through the 16th and after the 16th you can't download the first game anymore.


Uhh no. I'm almost positive it will add one game on each of those days. It will then continue till the end of the month. At least that's how Fable 3 works.

This means that you can downoad it from the 1st through the 16th and after the 16th you can't download the first game anymore.

If people don't have the money for the games, they have the opportunity to download them. Not to sound rude but, just because you have these games doesn't mean everyone does. So next month they can download it for free! There's nothing wrong with free games.

I think the free games are aimed towards people who do not already own them.
