E3 2013: Xbox One Launches November 2013 for $499

The Xbox One will cost $500 at retail when it launches in November, Microsoft announced at its E3 press conference today.

For comparison, the Xbox 360 launched in 2005 and cost $400 for a 20GB model, or $300 for the "Core" model.

This is kinda around what I expected. I was thinking the Xbox One would be around $500-$600.

TopNotchKiNG The Xbox One will launch with a Blu Ray drive, 500GB HDD, 8GB DDR3 RAM, Tv Tuner, Controller and Cables, Kinect, and more. All of this should sell for $900 and up, and for the people thinking that the PS4 will be under $400, you obviously have no clue when it comes to hardware pricing. The PS4 will Launch between $450 and $600

How can you say that others have no idea when it comes to hardware pricing when all of those features you just listed could be bought for less than $300? Your 'total' of $900 is actually laughable!

Love the fact people say #XboxOne is expensive but yet they have enough money to purchase the latest iPhone on Day One

The Xbox One starting out at $499 is a very fair price.

When the Xbox 360 Slim with Kinect + 250GB HDD launched at $300

Wart
Sorcery You think that's overpriced, in the UK we're paying 420 GBP ($650).

If you didn't hear/see it's $500, which is 321 pounds

Someone wasn't paying attention, they said $500 and 430 GBP, see where the issue is now you blundering idiot?

how is this over priced. the Xbox 360 cost $400 for a 20GB model when it launched as it says above. xbox 360 250 GB hard drives r $100 which equals $500 total. now the xbox one has 500GB and can also play blue-ray now. if u have more than one family memeber who plays xbox u can all play online now for the price of one on multiple accounst (i believe up to 10). plus u will get trade in valuse if u trade in the 360.
