Xbox One pre-orders break Blockbuster records

The retailer's head of games, James Morton, said in a statement published on MCV: "We are delighted by the huge number of pre-orders that we have received so far for the new Microsoft console.
"At Blockbuster, we have a fantastic array of adrenaline-fuelled console games for sale or rental. Our expert staff know gaming and they know consoles and these pre-orders are testament to our customers' trust in us as a leading gaming retailer."

Morton added: "With Sony releasing the PS4 in the near future, the next few months are going to be an exciting time for our staff and customers at Blockbuster and we can't wait to hear more details from both Sony and Microsoft at the E3 Expo next month."

Meanwhile, the German arm of online giant Amazon has begun listing Xbox One for pre-order with a price tag of €599 (£513), although this is likely just a placeholder. Zavvi has predicted an Xbox One price of £400 and release date November 30.

Microsoft announced Xbox One last Tuesday, when it said the console will launch around the world later this year.

Following the TV and entertainment heavy Xbox One reveal event, Xbox UK marketing manager Harvey Eagle promised: "E3 is absolutely all about the games. E3 is gaming, gaming, gaming. We've been very clear about that internally in our planning."

Microsoft's E3 press conference kicks off at 10am Pacific Time on June 10.

$773 is an outrageous asking for this console. However it's obviously not official. Hopefully people looking to buy the Xbox One wont have to mow 90 yards this summer to just to buy this. This console is going to break records. While for no good reason, the hype alone will rocket it into the hundreds of millions of dollars in total sales easily. Remember that this was the year that consoles became all in one Bluray machines. Hopefully Sony has a better showing, and the PS4 should be more powerful specs wise. Ps3 is already leaps and bounds ahead of the Xbox tech wise. ~ Coming from an owner of Both

Aha, spoken like a true fanboy. And no, my parents would just laugh at me telling me to buy it myself given the fact I don't live with them anymore. And in all honesty it really isn't that impressive at all, my PC is still better in all aspects. The only thing it can't do is run Xbox One games.


Why? Why do PC fanboys comment on every single Xbox or PS related thread saying PC's are better? WE GET IT! PC's have better specs not suprising when their is a new upgrade for them every six months. Do you guys have no lives and comment on threads just to let us know that you have the "superior" system?


Not really. I only really brought that up to give one of the many reasons why I'm not buying it. And I'm not really a fanboy of any one system, I do have game consoles as well. I loved my 360, but this console's a joke with all the crap MS is going to put into the One. Shame too, I did look forward to getting it; that's not happening anymore.
