Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sales top 6 million

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 6 million copies, it has been announced.

Xbox 360 developer 4J Studios made the announcement on Twitter earlier this week: "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over SIX MILLION copies !!!"

It is the latest milestone for a game that sold 15 million copies on all platforms in 2012, including 4.2 million units in December.

The news comes ahead of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition's imminent North American retail release.

Launching on April 30, the retail edition will contain the same content as the XBLA version, and will include all of the game's title updates.

The game is being considered for PlayStation devices once Mojang's contract with Microsoft expires.

It is a pretty awesome game though!

Yeah its like the most popular arcade game on xbox.

It hasn't even been out that long on the xbox. I mean, in comparison to other arcade games..

Yeah it is the number one selling arcade game last time i checked. :)

Kardashian Doesn't suprise me, MineCraft is a great game! It will get to 7 million very soon :p I like the PC version better though.

The PC version is better but the xbox version is still good.

Ibdon't see why the xbox version is going to outsell the pc version, i much prefer the pc version!

Same but people who have a PC most likely also have an Xbox therefore buying it and also people that don't have it on PC buying it on xbox therefore the sales are skyrocketing through the roof.
