Todd Howard ‘keeps saying no’ to an Elder Scrolls TV show

Bethesda Game Studios director and executive producer Todd Howard has addressed the chances of a TV show based on The Elder Scrolls following the success of Amazon‘s Fallout TV series.

Speaking to IGN on the red carpet at the premiere of Amazon’s Fallout TV series in LA, Howard addressed the possibility of a show based on Bethesda Game Studios’ other big franchise.

“Everybody asks, like, about Elder Scrolls, and I keep saying no also,” Howard said.

“You never know if someone’s going to click. I think this really came out of, ‘we think things are aligning to do a high-quality job.’ It wasn’t forced.

Howard continued: “I can’t predict the future, but this has been one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve ever done, and we’re just over the moon, everybody in the studio with seeing it this way.”

Amazon’s Fallout live-action series premiered this week. Variety recently reported that filming for the second season will see production move to California as part of a tax incentive.

The California Film Commission announced this week that it awarded $152 million in tax incentives to multiple shows, with Fallout being the largest.

The show’s first season, which stars Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten, was shot mostly in New York, with some additional filming taking place in Utah.

Fallout 4’s long-awaited current generation upgrade will be released this month.
