Lego City Undercover shows off another flaw of the Wii U

4.6
The Nintendo Wii U, in both Basic Set and Deluxe Set edition, has always been lacking on storage space. The Basic Set has just 8GB of internal flash memory storage out of the box, but that's before the 5GB mandatory firmware update is installed. In comparison, the deluxe Wii U only has 25GB of available memory after downloading the system firmware. Doing so leaves Wii U owners with just a measly 3GB of memory to save and download new games on. That's not even enough room to download the systems signature title, NintendoLand. This is likely why the majority of Wii Us sold are the Deluxe edition. Nintendo is even running into problems with its digital distribution business even on that model, though. New games like Lego City Undercover can't be downloaded to the console at all.

While Nintendo has yet to comment officially on the restriction, the reason why Lego City Undercover can't be downloaded is that game clocks in at an impressive 22GB on the game disc.

They should just give up on this console, and make a serious console to blow the PS3 and Xbox out of the water

Poi_Jr The Wii U is just a huge let down. Nintendo needs to stop.

They shouldn't stop, they should improve. They would need to stop if all of their items were garbage.

Exactly they need to wake up and notice that hand held consoles are getting old

ImDevinBay Nintendo just needs to make a NEW system, nothing like the Wii, or DS, just NEW

Well, the older systems were good for their time. But now, they kinda sucks. They need to make a system worth buying and is good.

Passiveone This is just sad. What happened to the good old N64 Days?? Wait... WERE IN 2013!! Get your S*** together and keep up with the program. It seams like their heads are still in the 1900s.

Lol and COD is just so fresh and new every year isn't it? WOW next year we can look forward to?? yes COD with slightly better graphics although nowhere near as good as the "more up to date" PC Maybe it will have some kind of motion controls like Nintendo's idea from the 1900's that everyone copied, again. How ever will Nintendo survive on the little money they made outselling it's competitors by 30 million consoles with the Wii which happens to be the best selling console ever, at least they have the DS / 3DS to fall back on.

Yikes I didnt think they would make lego games for this. WOW, I just saw that it said it would take up 22GB, thats crazy even though I have 250 still..

The size on the disc you buy in the shops or "store" if your not from England is 22gb,it doesn't install 22gb onto your HDD.It's just more childish nitpicking at Nintendo, seriously who downloads all their games? practically nobody unless it's arcade games or DLC,i don't really think people will be downloading Gears of War 3 or the new Bioshock. It's just getting a bit silly now, although it is actually really funny how upset people are getting because Nintendo have released a new console, don't worry kids you can still play your XBOX.

Rule34 They tried to get in the race w/ Microsoft and Sony. They lost that race.

What race? You mean the one that Wii won by 30 million consoles sold over PS3 and 360 or the race that 3DS is winning over Vita? Or could it be the race between Sony and Microsoft to copy Nintendo's motion controls?
