Lego City Undercover shows off another flaw of the Wii U

4.6
The Nintendo Wii U, in both Basic Set and Deluxe Set edition, has always been lacking on storage space. The Basic Set has just 8GB of internal flash memory storage out of the box, but that's before the 5GB mandatory firmware update is installed. In comparison, the deluxe Wii U only has 25GB of available memory after downloading the system firmware. Doing so leaves Wii U owners with just a measly 3GB of memory to save and download new games on. That's not even enough room to download the systems signature title, NintendoLand. This is likely why the majority of Wii Us sold are the Deluxe edition. Nintendo is even running into problems with its digital distribution business even on that model, though. New games like Lego City Undercover can't be downloaded to the console at all.

While Nintendo has yet to comment officially on the restriction, the reason why Lego City Undercover can't be downloaded is that game clocks in at an impressive 22GB on the game disc.

What do you mean "still" the Wii U only came out recently. It's XBOX no one plays obviously as it's sold less than Wii and PS3,probably sick of all the little kids disconnecting half way through every game as soon as they start losing lol :)

Origamo 22GB just for one game is ridiculous. Nintendo should have added a lot more capacity.

What's wrong with using an external HDD anyways? alot of people have them these days and they are cheap.Unfortunately the only news ever posted on the site is "bad news" about Wii U plus the fact that the comments are mostly from XBOX fanboys who don't know anything about the Wii U or have never played one what else would you expect? It's just people jumping on the bandwagon.

Somebody is just mad because they didn't get an xbox for Christmas.

Not really i have all the current consoles including 3 XBOX 360's and probably about 30 retro consoles.I like features from each of what's available and i play them all, mostly i like the exclusive titles each has to offer like God of War and Uncharted on PS3 and Gears of War on 360 + XBOX Live is the best online service apart from PC obviously ( because it's free ) and i play a lot of PC stuff as well which tbh is better graphically overall but that doesn't really matter,it is great for game mods though and alot more control options.I like games on every system even IOS,i don't understand all the hatred and negativity, just enjoy the games and chill :)

Yes "yours" might have but a lot of them are 4gig and 20gig and some Arcade models only have a 512mb memory card.
