'Destiny' revealed - site now live - ViDoc video also released.

Bungie has finally revealed their upcoming game, Destiny today by launching a new website, and uploading a video with segments of gameplay. A lot of information has also been released.

Here is some of the key information which is listed on the Destiny site:

BACKGROUND

'Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned the solar system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes.
You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City. Defeat our enemies. Reclaim all that we have lost.
Be brave.'

KEY FEATURES:

'The next evolution of entertainment — an incredible story set within a newly-imagined, always-connected universe filled with action and adventure.
Create your character, forge your legend by defeating powerful foes, and earn unique and customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.
Unprecedented variety of FPS gameplay, including story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes combined with public and social activities.'

A few concept art images were also uploaded, and can be found on the 'multimedia' part of the Destiny site.

Now for the good stuff, a video was uploaded which has a few snapshots of gameplay, and more information.

Bungie says this is their most ambitious project yet, are you beginning to believe this? Take a look at the video.



Destiny is now available to pre-order from the official site, but a release date has not yet been confirmed.

I agree, they need to keep their focus on one console. But Halo 3 was only on xbox, so this probably will too

Dude, no. Just no. 343 has a Contract with MS that states that Halo will still continue to be an Xbox exclusive. You worded what you said terribly. Destiny is a multi-platform game, meaning it will be available not only on the Xbox.

UNSC Hm. A lot of people counted Bungie out after Reach. I say that this game shows some promise. I hope that they use what they learned from Halo to make this a prominent Online shooter. Keep the game simple, keep it enjoyable, and be different. I hope they follow that, because that's what really made the Halo franchise great. I feel that 343 may be straying from that, but that's an entirely different debate. Also, if anyone here follows Halo Lore, this idea/concept of the game sounds quite a bit like a Forunner Saga (No, Im not saying that it has to do with the Forunners, it just sounds a lot like what happens in the Lore). Such as the Forunners after the initial Flood outbreak, and what it has to do with the Precursors. I will be looking into this game for sure.


Lol, exactly what I thought when they first started explaining the story. Sounded a lot like Halo's story of mankind before the forerunners took them out. But looks promising, just got to wait for more details.
