Next-Generation Xbox could be called the X8

After reading an Xbox tutorial guide by Microsoft, it seems to suggest that the next Xbox might be called the X8 or Xbox Infinity.

The official Xbox website has tutorial pages that explain how to use various features of the Xbox 360. The interesting part of these tutorials is that two pages refer to the X8.

"Play a Game (includes X8)" and "Listen to Music (includes X8)"

This could essentially be interpreted to mean that the instructions are applicable to both the X8 console and the Xbox 360.

Could this be a listing of the compatibility of the X8 mouse with an Xbox platform?

The next-generation console is expected to be revealed later this year, so without confirmation, we're only left to speculate.

Why the hell would they call it 720?
The 360 was named after all the buttons are 360 degrees. (And no the bumpers are not buttons so they do not count).

Not only that, but "720" just sounds completely stupid. I'm sure Microsoft's marketing team could do a MUCH, much better job then that like said rumored name above.

I quite like Xbox "Infinity" as well as its slick acronym "XS". Seems quite plausible if you ask me.

XeJames I quite like the sound of "X8" and "Xbox Infinity" opposed to Xbox 720. At least E3 is drawing ever closer so we can finally find out most, if not all there is to know about the upcoming next-gen consoles.


I have heard it being called the 720, project DURANGO, X8, and Xbox Infinity.

Maybe Xbox and Sony are secretly working together and Sony released a phone called the X8 and maybe the fact that Xbox hat Sony could be a cover up and they could be making the best xbox and ps3 of all time
