Report: PS4 could miss Christmas release in Europe.

According to new reports, the next generation PlayStation console will launch in Japan and the US by the end of 2013, but will not be released in Europe until "early 2014".

Reports claim that the PS4's rumored delay is due to "the complexities involved in European distribution"

Sony revealed on Thursday that they would be making an announcement on February 20 - Which we think to be the official announcement of the PS4.

MTV Eu seems to be getting a lot of things late.


It's because they have tons of restrictions on what content someone can and cant sell. Not in the UK but in other european contries the goverment controls the internet providers and the WWW itself. They will get the PS4 but they will have to wait for Sony to deal with the goverment.

I prefer xbox to playstation. But, that must be disappointing not having it for Christmas. Loss of sales for you sony!

As I am no longer a PlayStation gamer (Since PS2/PSP) this does not greatly affect me. I don't think that it is the best idea for them to settle with having it released in 2014 as they could potentially miss out on a portion of the market over in Europe. I feel that they should strive to have it released by the end of this year.

Well the xbox specs leaked first so it kinda counts?

phlegm This might be a bad business mistake on Sony's end. If xbox reaches Europe before PS4, a lot of kids will be opening xboxes up for Christmas instead of the PS4. That would suck for sony.

xbox will most likely out sell playstation in all those countries and not releasing it in europe will give microsoft even a better chance
