Rumor: PS4 Specs, new controller and account system leaked

4.5
The specs of PlayStation 4 developer kits from January 2013 have reportedly been revealed by official Sony documentation, which were then leaked and put up online.

The information, which was apparently provided by the same person who attempted to sell a pair of next gen Xbox development kits on eBay last year, reveals plans for a new controller and a new approach to user accounts.

The PS4 Dev Kit specs:

System Memory: 8GB
Video Memory: 2.2 GB
CPU: 4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer" (8x cores)
GPU: AMD R10xx
Drive: Blu-Ray
HDD: 160GB
Audio Output: HDMI & Optical, 2.0, 5.1 & 7.1 channels
Ports: 4x USB 3.0, 2x Ethernet

Sony is working on a new controller for the PS4, although some developers are said to be working with existing DualShock 3 pads, as well as PS Move.

The new controller is thought to include the four traditional face buttons, two analogue sticks, shoulder triggers of older PlayStation pads, as well as vibration and "improved" motion-sensing. But it's also reported to feature a touch pad, like the one found on the back of the Vita, capable of recognizing two-point multi-touch.

The controller itself can apparently be "clicked" to make an additional input button, and also features a new "Share" button. While no one knows the purpose of this button, it is believed to be linked to a new account system.

According to sources, the PS4 will support "multi-user simultaneous logins", which, by the sound of it, will allow multiple users to be signed into accounts at the same time on a single console, which means they could all unlock Trophies while playing co-op games.

CNTB The xbox spec seem better

I agree, and a lot of the people that bought a PS3 bought it because of Netflix streaming and Blu - Ray, and Xbox has both now :P

If you talking Xbox 360, then no, the 360 does not have a blu-ray player.

Netflix streaming is better on PS3 as well.

Not trying to start a console war, just saying.

Are you daft?

He stated the new Xbox has blu-ray, not the Xbox 360. He is stating that between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 people chose the PlayStation due to the media capabilities with streaming and blu-ray since Xbox 360 didn't support it. We're all aware that the Xbox 360 doesn't support blu-ray, but he's stating there will no longer be a difference as both the new Xbox, and the new PlayStation both have blu-ray support. Read next time, before trying to look smart.

HDITeRRoRiZeI Nice fake considering it contains very similar specs to the next-gen-leaked-xbox

CPU:
Xbox:8-core CPU clocked at 1.6 GHz - widely tipped to be from AMD
PS4:(8x cores) 4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer"

RAM:
Xbox:8GB of DDR3 RAM
PS4:System Memory - 8GB

DRIVE:
Xbox: Blue-Ray
PS4: Blue-Ray

I think someone is telling porkies

Well it was obvious that the Ps4 would have blu-ray since sony owns the patentes to blu-ray. Not to mention the only thing somewhat considerably copied thing is the RAM. 720 is running off of one drive while the PS4 is going to have 4. not sure exactly where this "copying" part is. (dont say the RAM just because they are the same, that's the same as saying your mac computer at your house is copying xbox too, any thing can have 8 RAM)

Sure it's a possibility.

It would have been better if the Xbox 720 had a HDDVD Blu-ray hybrid drive, HD-DVD for games and Blu-ray for movies, then MS wouldn't need to pay royalties to Sony for every game on the marketplace, the HD-DVD format also isn't very pirate-able, I don't remember any cheap HD-DVD burners being available for example.
