Blockbuster closing 300 US stores.

4.7
Well, it may be the end of an era for Blockbuster in the US, as Dish Network have recently announced that they will be closing 300 stores in the near future, which would mean around 3,000 jobs would be lost.

This announcement comes after the UK branch of Blockbuster filed its own bankruptcy, which then lead to 160 store closures out of 500 in the region.

So if you use Blockbuster's services to buy, or rent games; you may want to change your supplier. As time can't tell what will happen with Blockbuster in the future.

SovietRussia Companies like Gamestop, block buster, etc. Will be outdated within the next decade.

I don't think that would be happening to Gamestop at all but block buster defiantly.

It depends. If everything is purchased online, or you buy a game and install it. Gamestop would be forced to close locations. They make money from you selling them games, they take a game from you for 5$ and sell it for usually a 15$+ profit.
Without that advantage, Gamestop would close because profits from selling new games would be not enough to keep all stores open.

I grew up on Blockbuster so much easier renting a game from there.Sadly they took the store away from my town.

FrenzyRG No need for blockbusters anymore tbh...

That's how I feel about it.

Netflix on Xbox surely didn't help them much..
Blockbuster was pretty fun to chill at though.
But as somebody said below me there really is no need for them anymore.

It was so much easier than renting from GameFly.

I agree with you.
