Call of Duty movie unlikely

4.7
Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said that despite the campaign for Call of Duty being very cinematic, he has no interest in making the franchise into a movie.

Kotick has already turned down multiple requests from various studios that have offered to turn gamings biggest franchise into a movie. Kotick says movies based on video games rarely please devoted fans and could taint the brand.

Call of Duty makes up an estimated one-third of Activision’s more than $4 billion in annual revenue, so they certainly wouldn't want to do anything that could cause it harm.

Game-to-Movie adaptations have never worked very well, but if anyone knows of one that was actually good then please let us know.

All crazy asian comics turned into movies do well!

Exzo This would be pretty stupid in my opinion. Don't see it happening.

Which is exactly why they are not making it.

Yeah most likely it won't be too great if it does happen.

You never know.

WhatsFacebook Just think about a "Call of Duty" movie. What would there honestly be in it. Guys sitting at the tops of buildings spinning around then jumping to their death?

That isn't what call of duty is about? Thats wahat trickshotting is about...

OT - I think it would be really good, i love the cut scenes in the campaign's so if they make it into a movie i would buy it.

If they were to make it about the campaign then it would be good... But go ahead and go on search and destroy late at night, 7/10 times
there are trickshotters.

Oh go cry about Trickshotters while sitting in your corner with a **** Reg gun you *****.

Dude... He's got a point. Most of the 10-15 year olds who play this game think they will be the next grizz, so they do stupid pointless shit that makes SnD so frustrating to play and spectate. Trickshotting has officially ruined MW2 (with the help of OMA) and MW3 because in those games its a sin to aim down your scope and actually snipe.

[italics] Yeah[/italics] that's what will taint Call of Duty. Not the fact that they take no time and release a game every year.

I personally wouldn't see that happening.
