Rumor: Image from next-generation Kinect sensor leaked

The above image represents the body-tracking capabilities of the next generation of Kinect technology, according to purported Durango devkit owner DaE. Eurogamer declined to comment on the veracity of the image, but claims the owner is known to have a devkit for the next Xbox console.

The image shows a more accurate outline of two tracked bodies than the current Kinect can, including the ability to see fingers against clothing. The existence of this image suggests not just that new Kinect technology is being tested – it suggests that new Kinect technology will be bundled with, or sold alongside, the next Xbox. That squares with the leaked "Xbox 720" doc recently unearthed – and with common sense, given Kinect sales.

i wouldn't buy it either way if it gets a good review or not.


I might, I was really excited over the teaser back when the first one was called "project natal". Looked good. Hopefully this one is a much needed improvement.


yeah so was i, back when it was called that. that was a much better name then Kinect IMO.

My sister loves playing on the kinect I bought, so I might buy this too.

I also play on it, but not as much as her.

Im sure it is going to have some improvements but I hope it's good enough so I don't go wasting my money on something that sucks.

Yeah I really never liked the Kinect but maybe this will change my mind.

I think it's silly, it's almost a spin-off of a Wii.


Yeah and nearly all Kinect games suck or are just plain dumb like Kinectimals.


Kinectimals is garbage.

If they ironed out all the flaws and made it smoother and more responsive, I would might buy this one.
