Xbox 720: "new Xbox" is "coming out with Windows 8"

Xbox 720 is “coming out with Windows 8,” according to what could be a slip-up by Microsoft general manager Brian Hall.

Hall was discussing the launch of Outlook.com in an interview with The Verge when he mentioned the “new Xbox” in relation to Windows 8.

Here’s the full quote:

“We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work. We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office with the new Windows phone and the new Xbox.”

VEVO So it's not an Xbox? It's just a "gaming" PC? WTF Microsoft? But I'm pretty sure it's a special build of Windows 8 though. Made to look the same as the PC Windows 8 but actually runs Xbox based games. We'll see.


That would be an awesome idea, a console and a PC combined.

I think the Xbox will be amazing (software wise), but the Windows 8 operating system wasn't for me. It's kinda terrible haha! I'm still going to wait a while until I get the Xbox to see how many break.

Rule34 Windows 8 is coming this October. He is just saying that it will come out around the same time as devices that use it, like the Windows 8 Phone, right? :O


No they wouldn't release a new xbox with all this new games planned to come out for the xbox 360.

Microsoft will give us a heads up when it's about to come out unlike what apple does with their products.


yeah, with games like CoD BOII, BF4(? maybe for the next console..?), MoH: Warfighter, etc. coming out this year, Microsoft wouldn't come out with a new Xbox, because all of those game companies, who also pay Microsoft, would lose money.
