Minecraft XBLA sells 3 million

Minecraft for Xbox Live Arcade has now surpassed 3 million units sold. The announcement comes via Twitter from Mojang's lord of the blocks, Markus "Notch" Persson, who wrote this morning: "I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!"

The $20 downloadable title launched on May 7 and sold a million units in five days. It then reached two million sales in early June. Minecraft for XBLA has also enjoyed significant support through updates, the latest (v 1.73) having gone live last week.

Yes definatly, and when Minecraft hits update 1.8.2 the game will start to get more fun.

Notch has nothing to do with minecraft let alone the xbox 360 version.


Notch is the creator of Minecraft. -_-


He might be the creator of the game itself, but 4J Studios created the XBOX version of the game, so they handle all of the updates and content. Hell, their logo even appears in game during the intro credits.


I know this. He said that Notch had nothing to do with Minecraft, and I stated the facts about it.

The creators of MC definitely deserve all of the money that they get.
They work really hard on the game and it's really fun to play.
