Rumor: Kinect-enabled Internet Explorer browser coming to Xbox 360

Good news: the Xbox 360 will finally have a web browser in the near future, according to a Verge source. Bad news: It's Internet Explorer.

The source tells The Verge that the new web browser is based on Internet Explorer 9, and features Kinect functionality, allowing users to search with voice input just like the Bing search tech used in the current dashboard. Users will also be able to browse the web without talking to it, reportedly.

ok seriously guys do you really think microsoft would use another companys web browser...? Any reasonably intelligent person could figure that out. For the record it wont be anything like the PC or MAC based browser because its on XBOX !

iamiconz Hmmm... They've been making this web browser for how long? And we're just now getting it on the consoles? Sony doesn't make a web browser and they get one on theirs first? Seems reasonable.

It's because microsoft doesn't want web browsers on xbox for some reason.

They say that they think the internet should be enjoyed from a Computer not from a gaming console. here's why i think they havent done it. Microsoft also makes PC's aswell as xbox, think about it. If you can go on the Internet on your 200-400 dollar Xbox 360 why would you want to buy a 2000 dollar Computer, They think it will lose money.

Good luck finding a certified build of Firefox that is compiled for use on an Xbox, MS won't sign such a thing. JTags and RGHs would have no problem with them however.

r u kidin internet explorer is **** **** it takes about 10 seconds to start up, and dont say its my pc i have a 1200 gaming pc so its not that they should get google chrome
