Aerosoft has announced that it has been chosen as Microsoft’s official retail publishing partner for the upcoming flying game. Customers in Europe will be able to get two boxed versions of the game which have 10 double-layer DVDs with a printed manual. All of which are encased within a box.
Aerosoft states that it has been working closely with the teams to get the add-ons ready. The boxed version will include four major parts of the game. It’ll include the mandatory simulator code part itself, and the world, and aircraft part that is around 90GB. The other two parts are both optional but include the online streamed content and 3rd party files.
“Our DVD’s contains ‘all’ of part 2, apart from the updates Microsoft and Asobo do between the moment the DVD’s are pressed and release.” Aerosoft confirmed. “So the boxed version makes it possible for people on a slower internet connection to get the sim installed without downloading the ‘content’. So the simulator is in every way, 100% the same. The boxed retail version just gets you a nice box, printed manual and about 90 Gb you do not have to download. There is no difference between boxed retail and the version MS sells directly.”
If you’re interested in nabbing this and are in the European area, you can pick up the Premium Deluxe edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator for €129.99 that includes more airports and aircraft. There’s also a standard edition. Microsoft Flight Simulator will be launching on PC on August 18.
