World of Warcraft Streamer Reckful Reportedly Dies at 31

Twitch streamer and former esports pro Byron 'Reckful' Bernstein reportedly has passed away on July 2 after taking his own life.

His ex-girlfriend, BlueGoesMew, posted the news on Twitter. "Yes, it’s him. He’s gone," they said, after fans grew concerned over the 31-year-old's wellbeing following tweets he'd posted. "I’ve been having a panic attack for an hour. I don’t know what to do."

He was known in the Twitch community for games such as Hearthstone and Teamfight Tactics. He was infamous for the missed lethal during BlizzCon 2013 against Kripparrian. Following the play at BlizzCon, Reckful was focused on his streaming career playing Hearthstone, other digital card games, and IRL streams.



Reckful's roommate also confirmed the news, according to fellow streamer NymN.

"No, Blue's twitter account isn't hacked & Byron's room mate has confirmed it," he tweeted. "It is true. F**k everything about this year."

Daniel This is sad, Hate when i hear about someone taking their own lives, Horrible to think people don't have many people to talk to about their feelings and their thoughts. You should always talk to someone it always helps, RIP to him.


People think if they speak about their problems, they aren't a 'man'. That is the world we live in.


Your more of a man for speaking out what you are feeling, I don't mind speaking out as it will help me and help others aswell man.

I saw a video of him that was from about 3 or 4 years ago of him starting to cry, basically begging people to stop saying mean things to him in chat because it affects him. It was damn heartbreaking. No one deserves that, man.
