Sony has said that it's time to 'hit the reset button', as it reveals plans for an upcoming PlayStation Home reboot this autumn.

"Home is all about games and with a new version of the client coming soon too, our aim is to get you and your friends to these games faster," explains Darren Cairns, head of online marketing at SCEE on the PlayStation Blog. "We hope that with our new redesigned experience and upgrade to the core client, you'll very soon be consumed in a world of games with your fellow players."

The core Home experience is due to change quite dramatically with an all new Home Square, which integrates games, quests, and community events in one area. While this is the hub of the online space, Sony is also introducing new 'districts', which are designed to help players find games, people and places that suit their tastes.

The districts that have currently been revealed include;

Action: With a gritty, urban aesthetic reminiscent of a first-person shooter level, the Action District is the perfect destination for gamers looking for action, shooter and horror games.
Sportswalk: Come experience the outside-the-stadium feel of the Sports district, which features sports quizzes, trivia and sports-themed games.
Adventure: Enter a lush beachfront jungle full of sights to see and adventure-themed games to discover in the Adventure District.
Pier Park: Your destination for carnival, puzzle, outdoor and arcade games, featuring a waterfront boardwalk, ferris wheel and a fun party zone which is linked to Indie Park.
