Report: LulzSec hacking group releases Xbox Live, Facebook login info

4.4
Adding to the list of game-related companies it has attacked, LulzSec yesterday claimed to have stolen and leaked the login and password information for approximately 62,000 "internet accounts," reports the CBC. The stolen info is said to comprise logins/passwords from Facebook, Twitter, "dating sites," PayPal and, notoriously, Xbox Live. It is also claimed that the majority of accounts are from the United states, though several other countries are named in the report.

The account database info is still currently available through the LulzSec website (though we'd suggest not visiting) -- various folks on Twitter responding to the group claim to have done a variety of things with the information, from having a large pack of condoms delivered to an elderly woman, to one person saying they bilked a PayPal account for £250 ($404).

Earlier this week, the group attacked and successfully took down a handful of game industry websites, including EVE Online, Minecraft and The Escapist. All three sites quickly recovered and have been online since. Microsoft has yet to respond to request for comment on yesterday evening's alleged breach.

TTG-Rotationz **** LuLzSec needs to stop. The first couple times it was funny, now its xbox getting hacked? Really? A bunch of 30 year old fatasses sitting at a computer probably using some stupid blackhole method to hack into servers. **** YOU LULZSEC.
are you dumb? hows it ok to hack anything that involves screwing peoples life up with debt (by getting there credit cards on random websites) but if its xbox then its totally diffrent. Im so sick of people like you, "if its xbox then its totally serious" no its going to end up being a similar problem sony had.
Not saying that microsoft will get hacked but if it does, its not the end of the world. sony got through and im sure microsoft would to at some point

Just looking at the passwords of some of the accounts on there, it wouldn't take any length of time whatsoever to guess a good 40% of them almost instantly without the need to hack websites to get the details.

My password personally has uppercase, lowercase, special characters and numbers.

I mean how many of them are just using names?

I know that the people that have had their information stolen isn't because of their rubbish passwords, but it makes you wonder how they personally haven't been hacked before.

They probably hacked some really low security networks to get these accounts. And since most people use the samee password and email for everthing, it is kinda like getting their xbox stuff.

Lol, hope they dont get mine.

Well none of my emails are there so that's good... And also, some people have horrible passwords :p

Im confused why nobody is enforcing the problem, and letting LulzSec get away with it. I mean seriously, they hacked the CIA site. CIA.gov
